Umbrella

An umbrella structure is best suited if you:

- are contracting for the first time and are unsure whether or not to set up your own limited company
- have a contract which is worth less than around £30,000 per annum
- are in the UK on a working visa
- prefer not to set up your own limited company, even if your contract is worth more than £30,000 per annum

What you can expect from our umbrella structure:

- peace of mind – no VAT or any other legal worries
- no hidden extras
- expenses – approved by the Inland Revenue
- sickness, maternity and holiday pay
- Self Assessment Tax Return completed at no extra cost
- Personal account manager

Please be wary of umbrella companies claiming they have a dispensation allowing you to claim a large number of tax free expenses. If you would like to know more, please read our article on dispensations.

If you are considering using a composite company or already contract through one of these, please read our article on composite companies to see why you should reconsider!

NEWS UPDATE:

In the Pre Budget Report 6th December 2006 an announcement was made that the treasury will be taking action against Composite companies (Managed Service Companies), please read the attached link.
